In November 2021, the Infrastructure Protection Coalition (IPC) released an “811 Emergency Report” assessing and rating individual states’ 811 policies and their contribution to waste, inefficiencies, and excess costs. The National Report includes 13 recommendations for 811 processes throughout the country, and the individual state reports highlight which of the 13 recommendations are not being adhered to in each individual state.
Georgia stakeholders will notice that the Georgia Report was written with inaccurate information. Georgia 811’s President and CEO Meghan Wade, along with Board Internal Affairs Chair Rick Lonn (Southern Company Gas), provided IPC with correct information and requested an update to the report.
