Tool to Assist with Damage Investigations
The Common Ground Alliance recently released a new printable Damage Information Reporting Tool (DIRT) field form. The updated DIRT Field Form supports a hybrid approach to assist with damages or near-miss investigations. Teams can print the form for use on a clipboard, type directly into the fillable PDF or import the file into the PDF modules already embedded in several field‑data applications.
Share the field form with your teams here: DIRT Field Form.
Upcoming Mapping Update in the Georgia 811 Ticketing System
Georgia 811 will soon transition the satellite map view in our ticketing system from Bing Maps to Azure Maps, Microsoft’s latest and most advanced mapping platform. This upgrade will maintain the familiar functionality and imagery you’re used to, though you may notice slight differences in how roads are highlighted. We’re excited to bring you this enhanced mapping experience as part of our ongoing commitment to improved service.
Help Us Improve Damage Prevention—Upcoming Surveys
Georgia 811 is committed to continuous improvement, and we value your input. In the coming weeks, all excavators and member utilities will receive our annual survey. Your feedback plays a vital role in helping us enhance our services and support safe digging across Georgia.
In addition, we’re gathering more detailed insights into damage incidents to better identify effective prevention strategies. To support this effort, individuals who report damages in the coming months may receive a follow-up survey conducted by our trusted third-party partner, MGH. These surveys will be completely anonymous and are designed to help us better understand the root causes of damages.
We appreciate your participation and thank you for helping make Georgia a safer place to dig.
July 4 Holiday
Georgia 811 offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, but our contact center will remain open to assist with all ticket types except Large Projects and Design tickets. Please plan your work accordingly.
