Georgia 811 is pleased to announce the return of our annual Damage Prevention Summits, with three opportunities to attend across the state this year. Attendance is free, but space is limited. Early registration is encouraged.

The 2026 Summits are proudly supported by our Diamond Sponsor, Atlanta Gas Light.

Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are still available. We invite you to participate as we bring together damage prevention partners from across Georgia to collaborate, strengthen safety practices, and explore innovative solutions to protect underground utilities.

A Quick ReminderHave Your Ticket Number Ready When Reporting Damage
When calling to report a damage, please have your active dig ticket number ready to share with the agent. This helps us process your report quickly and accurately.

Upcoming Website Changes

We will be making updates to our website this week to improve clarity and help users more easily understand their options when submitting a ticket online.

When selecting “Submit Dig Ticket” from the Georgia 811 homepage, visitors will now see clear pathways to either log in to the portal for full access or submit a single-address eRequest or a Large Project.

In addition, we will add a new option under the Members dropdown menu directing users to the Member Portal. From there, members will find links to respond to tickets, manage service area maps, and view member analytics.

This summer metropolitan Atlanta and the State of Georgia will have the honor and privilege of hosting the 2026 FIFA games. Several matches are planned to occur in the months of June and July, which will include various accommodations for visiting teams and activities for internal and domestic fans. The following moratoriums are intended to ease travel through and within our state, while showcasing our best to the world.

For State Routes and Interstates inside the perimeter of I-285, including I-285, in metropolitan Atlanta and all Interstates and Freeway north of the City of Macon (I-20, I-75, I-85, I-675, I-985 and SR 400), the following minimum work zone and traffic control restrictions apply:

  • No pavement cuts will be allowed on or after May 15, 2026.
  • All roadside stockpiles and equipment must be removed by June 1, 2026.
  • All pavement restoration and plate removal must be completed by June 1, 2026.
  • Pavement cuts, the stockpiling of materials, storing of equipment, restoration of pavement and installation of plates may resume July 20, 2026.
  • No lane or shoulder closures will be allowed beginning at 5:00 am Thursday, June 11, 2026, through 10:00 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026 and from 5:00 am Monday, July 13, 2026, through 10:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026.

GDOT Districts 1, 3 and 6 may also accommodate visiting FIFA teams and/or fan-based activities. These Districts may apply the restrictions above on state routes as needed.   These restrictions will not apply to Emergency Events (major outages). Should an emergency occur, the pavement and roadbed shall be restored within 48 hours of completion of the repair.

GDOT Districts are advised not to use this as an opportunity to unnecessarily restrict work that is otherwise unaffected by the restrictions above.
