Great job to all safe digging partners who celebrated 811 Day and thank you to those who shared videos and photos of your activities. Pictured below North Fulton UCC Vice Chairman Luis Mercado celebrates 811 Day with the Alpharetta Fire Department, and the City of Johns Creek declares August 11 as 811 Day. And thank you to Southern Company Gas who shared their short form safety videos with stakeholders – 811 Man on the Street, 811 pop quiz, and 811 Man Reads Fan Mail. UCCs who qualified for proclamation prize money will be announced in October!

Know Before You Dig: Updating Service Area Maps
Every month Georgia 811 will highlight an educational topic in this new “Know Before You Dig” feature. Follow these tips and share with colleagues so you can stay on top of damage prevention information.
Keeping your Service Area Map up to date is one of the best ways to help prevent damage. When your map is current, you will get notified of any excavation that is planned near your underground or overhead utilities.
Remember, if you add new facilities outside your existing service area, it’s time for an update!
Take a few minutes to log into the Service Area Editor, review your map, and make any changes needed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to our Member Services Department at memberservices@georgia811.com.
